SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP ZONING 101
If new construction or property improvements are in your future, here are the requirements to obtain a zoning permit. Permits are required to be applied for and received prior to any construction, erection, enlargement, addition, or alteration in any Residential, Commercial, or Industrial District. Zoning Permits are not required when replacing shingles on a roof, windows, doors, siding, interior remodeling, electrical or plumbing work. Your Homeowner’s Association may have specific rules on what types of structures are allowed in your subdivision. Please contact your association before applying for a zoning permit.
Determine the Zoning District you are in by accessing AREIS, online public access to property data and maintained by the Lucas County Auditor’s Office. This application links Real Estate data, GIS mapping and imaging in a single viewer.
The following information can be found on AREIS:
- property owner
- parcel zoning district
- parcel number
- taxes and payments
- property tax distribution
- levy estimates
- front structure photo
- building sketches
- historical transfer cards
