Springfield Township is responsible for snow removal on any road not maintained
by the county. Snow removal is not provided for private roads or developments.
These include: Treetop Lane, Castle Oak and Forest Glen in Stone Oak; Tremore,
Hidden Harbour, Wolf Creek Estates and Embassy Court. The road crews are
notified by the Lucas County Sheriff when the roads are getting slippery or
impassable and they are usually on the job within an hour of that call.
The township will replace mailboxes damaged by plowing with a standard pole and
mailbox. Contact the township road maintenance department at 419-865-0239, Ext.
10 to report damage. If you live on a county road and your mailbox is damaged,
please call Lucas County Road Maintenance at 419-893-2232. If you live on
Airport Highway, call ODOT at 419-382-2681.
When there are winter weather advisories posted, please try to park off the
street if at all possible so the plows can do a thorough job of snow removal.
This voluntary courtesy is always appreciated by the road crews and enables them
to do a better job for residents.
